wordpressMy name is Nicole DeVincentis, and I am an aspiring editor, with a bachelor’s in communication and writing, who hopes to work in the publication industry. I currently get most of my projects from fiverr, (link to my profile on services page) where you can book my editing, proofreading, and reviewing services. My rates are also listed on my services page for your convenience.

I’ve had a love of reading since I was old enough to make sense of the words on the page, but it wasn’t until going to college that I discovered my love for editing. Before picking a school, my sister insisted I choose a career choice. I always said I didn’t know, but after months of persistent nagging, I had a thought.

As sudden as a blink, the movie The Proposal popped into my head, and I thought of Andrew’s (played by the darling Ryan Reynolds) job working for Margaret Tate (portrayed by the talented Sandra Bullock). Something clicked. I looked at my sister sitting next to me and said, “I want to be an editor.”

I had never considered it before, but my path down this road has been filled with joy, enlightenment, inspiration, and hope for all the happiness in the world. When I wake up and know that I get to spend my day reading, something I’ve always loved to do and have done incessantly (my family AND friends can attest!), it makes me smile. Not only that, but helping writers share their stories is one of the most rewarding endeavors I could ever have the pleasure of pursuing, and it’s something I consistently work to expand my knowledge and further help my clients.

  1. Hello Nicole. I noticed you have started to follow my blog. Thank you.
I agree with your comment about creative writing being the gateway to the subconscious mind and there being no insecurity when writing. It’s where you can be your true self.
I am a guest on Jenny Alexander’s (wordpress) blog on Wednesday if you care to visit. She was my creative writing tutor in Cornwall, very inspiring, Her website is called Writing in the House of Dreams.
